Early Action Emergency Grant - CLOSED

What the Early Action Emergency Grant IS/IS NOT.
- IS a grant created to assist current Roadrunners who are facing financial emergencies

- IS NOT a secondary form of college funding or a permanent solution
REQUIREMENTS

- Be currently enrolled in 6 or more units

HOW TO APPLY
Students can apply for the Early Action Emergency Grant by logging into your MyBC Self Service student portal, selecting Financial Aid, then clicking on Early Action Grant under Form Links in the Resources section on the right.

The Roadrunner Rise: Camp Fire Emergency Assistance Grant will provide assistance
to qualifying students who were directly or indirectly affected by the 2018 Camp Fire.
The grant can cover tuition/fees, school materials, transportation, housing, utilities,
food and/or childcare assistance.

Eligibility
- Submit a complete and accurate Roadrunner Rise application
- Actively enrolled in 3+ units at Butte College in the semester in which emergency aid is being requested
- Be a US Citizen or eligible non-citizen

Camp Fire Emergency Assistance Grant Application Process

- Prior to the start of the semester you will receive an email to your Butte College student email with directions on how to access your $300 book voucher to assist in meeting the cost associated with books and supplies.

Q: Do I need to be enrolled in a certain number of units to have my previous balance covered?

The Butte College Financial Aid Team called in ‘DASH to the Rescue’ to provide the
Dash CARES Grant Emergency Fund. These funds can help qualifying students who are
facing an unexpected financial emergency: tuition, books, supplies, food, transportation, housing, child care, and/or health
care.
Students are limited to one Dash CARES Grant. Students who may have received a Dash
CARES Grant prior to August 20, 2021 may be eligible to receive one additional subsequent
grant during the Fall 2021 semester. See IMPORTANT APPLICATION INFORMATION below for
details.
Unlike the CARES Act, the CRRSAA and ARP requires that institutions prioritize students
with exceptional need, such as students who receive Pell Grant.

No. However, we hope this additional grant will be helpful in assisting students with educational expenses and needed supplemental support due to loss or reduction of employment to remain enrolled.

- How will I be notified if I am getting this $1,000 grant? Per Department of Education guidance, Butte College cannot include Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) grants on a student’s financial aid award letter; HEERF student grant award notifications must be sent separately. Upon review of your enrollment and at the time of disbursement, Butte College will send a grant award notification to your student email. In addition, you will receive a text message to your current mobile number on file notifying you of the grant award.
- How will the money be disbursed?

- For students who have financial aid and have chosen their disbursement preference through BankMobile, you will receive your $1,000 grant based on your preferred disbursement choice.

$500 Technology Voucher - CLOSED
Butte College awarded 2,000 students $500 to be used on technology related expenses such as computers, internet service, webcams, printers, software or any other technology item.Funding has been exhausted. You will be notified if more funding becomes available in the future.
Disbursement:
- Vouchers are issued in the order they are received.
- Disbursement will begin 9/23 until funds are exhausted.
- For students who have financial aid and have chosen their disbursement preference through BankMobile, you will receive your $500 based on your preferred disbursement choice.
